Signs Your Pool Needs Resurfacing
Pool surfaces break down over time due to chemical exposure, weather conditions, and regular use. Knowing when to resurface protects your investment and keeps swimmers safe. Watch for these indicators:
- Rough or abrasive texture underfoot
- Visible cracks or etching patterns
- Persistent staining that won't clean
- Plaster peeling or chipping away

How much experience does Moore Pools have with pool plastering?
We bring more than 20 years of experience to pool plastering and resurfacing projects. Over the years, we have developed extensive knowledge of pool finishes, surface preparation, and design considerations. When homeowners compare pool plaster companies in Alpharetta, GA, we can use that experience to help identify appropriate resurfacing options based on the condition and design of their pool.
What types of pool finishes can Moore Pools install?
We offer several finish options to accommodate different preferences, budgets, and pool designs. Our services include traditional plaster, pebble and aggregate finishes, epoxy and quartz coatings, and fiberglass surface restoration. We can discuss the characteristics of each option and help you determine which type of finish may be appropriate for your pool when considering pool plaster companies in Alpharetta, GA.
Can you help me select a finish that complements my pool's design?
Yes, we can help you consider finish colors, textures, and materials that coordinate with your existing pool and surrounding outdoor space. Our design experience allows us to discuss how different finishes may change the overall appearance of the water and pool area. If you are researching pool plaster companies in Alpharetta, GA, we can walk you through the available options and help you choose a finish that aligns with your preferred style.
How do you prepare a pool before applying a new finish?
We begin by evaluating the existing pool surface and identifying areas that may require additional preparation or repair. Proper preparation is an important part of creating a finished surface that is consistent and appropriate for the pool. We address the necessary preparation before applying the selected material, giving us a structured process for completing projects for customers considering pool plaster companies in Alpharetta, GA.
How long does a pool plastering or resurfacing project take?
The timeline can vary depending on the size and condition of the pool, the selected finish, and the amount of preparation or additional work required. We evaluate these factors when developing the project plan rather than applying the same timeline to every pool.
Can you repair pool tiles during a resurfacing project?
Yes, we provide tile replacement and repair as part of our pool renovation services. Addressing damaged or outdated tile at the same time as resurfacing can help create a more cohesive appearance throughout the pool. We can evaluate the existing tile, discuss available repair or replacement options, and coordinate the work with the new surface when you are considering pool plaster companies in Alpharetta, GA.
Does Moore Pools refinish concrete pool decks?
Yes, we provide concrete pool deck refinishing in addition to pool plastering and resurfacing. Refinishing the deck can help refresh the appearance of the entire pool area rather than focusing only on the surface inside the pool. We can discuss your deck's current condition and explain how our services can be incorporated into a broader renovation when you are comparing pool plaster companies in Alpharetta, GA.
Do you handle building permits for pool resurfacing projects?
Yes, we handle obtaining building permits when they are required for a project. We can address the applicable permitting requirements as part of our project process so homeowners do not have to manage every administrative detail themselves.
Does Moore Pools offer a warranty on pool plastering work?
Yes, we provide a 1-year workmanship warranty on our pool plastering and resurfacing projects. We also honor applicable manufacturer warranties for the materials used during the project. We can explain the details of the workmanship and manufacturer warranty coverage so you understand what applies to your specific installation when working with pool plaster companies in Alpharetta, GA.
